With downtown Del Mar’s close connection to the ocean and the seasonal increase in visitors, the Del Mar Village Association remains dedicated to protecting our local environment. Our newest sustainability initiatives are central to our ongoing efforts to minimize tourism’s ecological footprint, champion ecotourism, and strengthen community engagement. We are pleased to announce three forward-thinking programs designed to advance these goals:
Water Refill Stations—In 2025, DMVA fundraised and installed six water bottle refill stations (with dog bowls and ADA-compliant drinking fountains) at key beach and park locations in Del Mar. These stations provide a convenient way for residents and visitors to stay hydrated without wasting single-use plastics.
Quarterly Community Cleanup Events - Uniting our community, these events foster collective action to keep our beloved coastline pristine while encouraging community engagement.
Del Mar ShoreSaver Program - A proactive effort to protect and maintain the natural beauty of our shores.
We invite you to join us in these efforts to safeguard the shores of Del Mar for future generations. Explore the sections below to learn more about these programs and how you can get involved.
