Del Mar Village Water Refill Stations

The Del Mar Village Association (DMVA) spearheaded a meaningful effort to replace six worn and non-functioning water fountains with new water bottle fill stations, thoughtfully designed with bottle-filling spouts, ADA-accessible drinking fountains, dog bowls, and a foot washing station at the Del Mar Tot lot. These upgraded stations are located in key areas throughout coastal Del Mar Village, offering residents and the city’s many visitors a convenient, eco-friendly way to stay hydrated while helping to dramatically cut down on single-use plastic waste.

More than just a functional upgrade, this project reflects DMVA’s deep commitment to preserving the natural beauty of Del Mar and protecting its future. The need to reduce waste and environmental impact is urgent in a town whose population swells by the thousands during peak tourism season. These new water bottle fill stations align with Del Mar’s Climate Action Plan and demonstrate how small changes can drive lasting impact. With this project, DMVA is not only providing a much-needed amenity but also helping foster a culture of sustainability, inspiring both locals and visitors to care for the coast we all cherish.
