Who We Are

The Del Mar Village Association (DMVA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Del Mar’s unique character while keeping our Village vibrant, welcoming, and connected.

We work alongside:

  • Del Mar residents

  • Commercial property owners

  • The City of Del Mar

Together, we create programs, events, and initiatives that strengthen our downtown, support local businesses, and bring energy to the streets of Del Mar — for those who live here and those who visit.

Introducing the Village Ambassador Program

A light-lift, high-impact way to get involved

The Village Ambassador Program is a resident-powered initiative designed to connect neighbors, strengthen communication, and ensure resident perspectives help guide DMVA’s work. Village Ambassadors are residents who:

  • Share information about what’s happening in the Village

  • Invite neighbors to participate in events and programs

  • Gather ideas, feedback, and concerns from the community

  • Help turn resident input into action

This is not a heavy volunteer commitment. It’s about conversations, connections, and caring about Del Mar.

 

Why Become a Village Ambassador?

As a Village Ambassador, you’ll:

  • Have a direct line to DMVA

  • Get early insight into upcoming programs and events

  • Help shape ideas before they become reality

  • Strengthen connections with neighbors and local businesses

Whether you’re new to Del Mar or have lived here for decades, your perspective matters.

 

What Getting Involved Can Look Like

There’s no one-size-fits-all role. Ambassadors may:

  • Invite neighbors to community events

  • Participate in small idea-sharing gatherings

  • Help introduce residents to DMVA’s work

  • Share feedback after events

  • Support programs they care about most
