Senate bill 1383
California law, Senate Bill (SB) 1383, mandates organic waste recycling. The City of Del Mar has developed a resource that provides comprehensive information about SB 1383 and the actions your business needs to take to comply with organic recycling and surplus edible food recovery. For additional information and resources, visit the EDCO Website or contact Dawn Cox with EDCO. She can schedule a site visit to walk you through and help implement an organics program. Dawn can be reached at 619-357-8994 or dcox@edcodisposal.com.
Surplus Edible Food Recovery:
If you need help setting up your edible food donation program, please contact Clem Brown at 858-375-9524 or cbrown@delmar.ca.us.
Del Mar's Municipal Code (Chapter 11.20 Management of Solid Waste, Section 11.20.270) has also been updated to include the requirements that commercial edible food generators must follow.
